Chisinau, 4 March /MOLDPRES/ - The lack of municipal public transport means hit the citizens. For this reason, the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, is determined to buy 100 buses, due to be assembled in the Moldovan capital.
The residents from the Schinoasa district of Chisinau today had to move more kilometers by foot, in order to reach trolley bus stations; this happened on grounds that the mini-bus routes 108 and 178 did not move.
In a posting on a social network, mayor Ion Ceban said that he knew the situation of the Schinoasa district’s residents. “We know the problem of the people from the Schinoasa district. We apologize to the citizens for the situation emerged. We look for urgent solutions to solve this problem. Namely for this reason, we need those 100 buses, which must appear on streets of the Chisinau city as soon as possible,” Ion Ceban wrote.
At the same time, at a today’s news conference, the head of the Chisinau municipal council’s commission for economy, budget and finances, Roman Cojuhari, accused mayor Ceban of lack of transparency as regards this acquisition. Cojuhari said that it was not clear which is the final cost of these buses and that the Chisinau city hall was to contract a loan to buy those 100 buses from Belarus.
The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) is to decide on the procurement of 100 new buses, in order to renew the Buses Park from the capital. The general mayor Ion Ceban proposed a project to this effect in the beginning of a CMC meeting last week.
