Decision on indexation of minimally guaranteed monthly income to be published in Moldova's Official Journal

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - The minimally guaranteed monthly income will be indexed by 4.8 per cent as of 1 April 2020, proceeding from the annual increase of the consumer price index for the previous year, and will amount to 1,107 lei after the indexation. The provision is contained in a decision by the cabinet of ministers, which will be published in the Official Journal (Monitorul Oficial) on 6 March. 

To establish the indexation of the level of the minimally guaranteed monthly income, the government approved an amendment to a cabinet decision on the regulation concerning the way the social benefit is established and paid.   

At a proposal by the Finance Ministry, “in order to make a single approach on the enforcement of macroeconomic indexes for diverse social benefits, the indexation quantum was established to tenths.”  

According to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, the financial means needed for implementing this decision were provided for in the state budget law for 2020.
