Moldovan Prosecutor General gives permission for detaining of four National Bank of Moldova employees

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prosecutor General Alexandr Stoianoglo today informed that he had allowed the detaining of four persons following searches which took place the National Bank of Moldova (BNM).
According to Stoianoglo, the four people have been members of BNM’s leadership. “I have given permission for the detaining and hearing of the people working at the National Bank of Moldova. It is about Dorin Dragutanu, Emma Tabarta, Aureliu Cincilei and Ion Sturzu. These actions have been prepared long ago. The National Bank was involved in the unlawful actions dealing with the one-billion-dollar theft,” Alexandr Stoianoglo said.
The prosecutor general noted that he did not know whether those four BNM members had been detained or not so far.
The Anticorruption Prosecutor’s Office today morning carried out criminal prosecution actions at the headquarters of the National Bank of Moldova in the file on bank fraud.
