Moldovan capital's urban plan to be worked out in 18 months

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) approved that the general urban plan and the strategy of development of the Chisinau municipality is worked out by specialists of the Association, Research Centre for Sustainable Development, from Bucharest, Romania.

At a today’s extraordinary meeting, CMC approved, after more hours of discussions, the elaboration, in 18 months, of the Moldovan capital’s general urban plan. An international consortium, which will also include Moldovan experts, will supervise and quarterly report the working out of this urban plan and the strategy of development of Chisinau.

The municipal councilors asked to make more amendments, the most important one being the amendment which sees that, after the elaboration, the urbanism documentation will be the property of the Chisinau city hall.

The Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban, said that the value of the labour carried out by the architects of the Association, Research Centre for Sustainable Development, would be of 500,000 euros.
