Moldovan PM assesses march of reconstruction works at Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum from southern town

Chisinau, 5 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today assessed the carrying out of the works of reconstruction of an education block of the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum from the southern Cimislia town. More than 800 pupils study at the lyceum, while the institution’s capacity is for 600 pupils.

According to the government’s communication and protocol department, the works of repair of the building of a former kindergarten started last summer. This building will be turned into an education block for primary school pupils, with a capacity of 300 children. The two-storied institution undergoes capital repair: the infrastructure networks are modernized, the roof is changed and the façade is finished.     

The PM was informed about the fact that the term of carrying out the works was observed and the education block would be functional till 1 September 2020.

Ion Chicu asked decision-makers to follow, so that the works are carried out qualitatively and the material used meets the national norms.  

The government allocated 4.5 million lei for purchasing the needed furniture and equipment. The building’s repair takes place under the Education Reform in Moldova project, managed by the competent ministry and implement by the Social Investments Fund of Moldova (FISM).    

About 85 employees work at the Mihai Eminescu theoretical lyceum, of whom over 50 are teachers.
