Moldovan parliament made amendments to law on technical regulation activity

Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- Today MPs adopted in the final reading a draft law on technical regulation activity.
The document aimed at adjusting the activity of national technical regulation to the Agreement on the Technical Barriers to Trade of the World Trade Organization (WTO).
The main amendments to legislation aimed at facilitating the activity of the regulatory authorities at the stage of elaborating the national norms, national standards body, as well as the WTO Notification and Information Center. Also, the legislation will be supplemented by provisions referring to the international obligations of the Republic of Moldova to prevent unnecessary barriers to trade.
Other provisions refer to strengthening the legal framework on recognizing the equivalence of conformity assessment procedures set out in the technical regulations of other states and recognition of documents attesting the conformity of the products that have been issued under the respective mutual recognition agreements.
