Chisinau, 6 March /MOLDPRES/- Postal service providers will have the right to provide payment and electronic money issuance services. A draft law on amendments to the law on postal communications was adopted by parliament today in the second reading.
The amended law will regulate both the activity in postal communications of postal operators, regardless of their type of ownership, as well as the funding mechanism of the universal postal service under conditions that guarantee the permanent provision of this service.
Principles of tariff formation will be set up, which will be determined by postal service providers.
At the same time, the application of a uniform tariff does not exclude the right of the universal postal service provider to conclude individual tariff agreements on prices with users. In addition, it is proposed to set in the law the notion of "electronic postal services". Postal service providers will have the right to provide payment and electronic money issuance services.
Also, additional provisions on the use of personal data are set out. Thus, postal service providers will only process the personal data strictly necessary, in compliance with the law on protection of personal data.
