Chisinau, 9 March /MOLDPRES/- Citizens suspected of Coronavirus and who do not comply with the conditions imposed by the authorities could be sanctioned. President Igor Dodon made the statement today. He said he would ask the government to come up with changes to the legislation in this regard.
According to Dodon, citizens arriving from affected areas and do not say or do not correctly fill in the files and do not respond to requests of authorities, should be fined or even brought to criminal liability. "The extraordinary situation requires extraordinary measures. All people who by their irresponsible behavior endanger the health of citizens will respond ”, he said.
He noted that it is premature to consider banning flights from areas affected by Coronavirus. However, if Romania prohibits all flights from Italy or other countries with outbreaks, the transit through Moldova could be allowed only for Moldovan citizens.
Dodon said that according to WHO recommendations, there will still be no closure of kindergartens and schools, as only one case of COVID-19 has been registered. He urged citizens to show responsibility and help limit the spread of the virus.
