Chisinau city remains without general urban plan

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau Municipal Council (CMC) today withdrew from the Bucharest-based Association, Research Centre for Sustainable Development, the right to work out the general urban plan and the strategy of development of the municipality, given at a meeting on 5 March 2020.
The withdrawal of the vote, given by the faction of the Shor Party on 5 March, stayed at the basis of this decision. The municipal councilor on behalf of this formation, Valerii Klimenko, explained the withdrawal of the vote, noting that, in the lack of a translator, he had not understood what he was voting for.
At the meeting from 5 March, the municipal councilors during more hours discussed the elaboration of the general urban plan of the Chisinau municipality. More councilors had suspicions about the Association, Research Centre for Sustainable Development, from Bucharest.
The decision on the withdrawal of the right to work out the general urban plan, given to the aforementioned association from Romania, was taken with the votes of 27 councilors, in the lack of the faction of the Moldovan Party of Socialists and the one of the Democratic Party.
