Moldova's foreign affairs ministry issues warning for Moldovan citizens set to transit Romania

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - Given the spread of the coronavirus infection, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) warns Moldova’s citizens who are set to transit Romania, coming from Italy, China, Iran and South Korea, about the measures imposed by the Romanian authorities.
Therefore, starting from 9 March 2020, all foreign citizens who enter Romania through the border crossing points, no matter the transport means used, are allowed access only with the compulsory condition to be placed in quarantine or self-isolation, as case may be. The measures are valid till 31 March, with possibility to be extended, depending on the evolution of the epidemiological situation.
The Romanian citizens who arrive in Romania through terrestrial border checkpoints from or after earlier travelling in Italy, China and South Korea, enter institutionalized quarantine in the border county or in isolation at home, depending on the zone they are coming from. The embarking in airships arriving in Romania from Italy, China, Iran and South Korea is made only for Romanian citizens.

The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry recommends that the Moldovan citizens who are in Romania seriously inform themselves from official sources about the epidemiological evolution and the measures established by the Romanian authorities and strictly observe them.
