Moldovan president has working meeting with Chisinau mayor

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a working meeting with the Chisinau general mayor, Ion Ceban.
According to the presidential press service, the sides tackled more subjects of major importance for the Moldovan capital’s residents, including the actions undertaken to prevent and minimize the risk of the spread of the COVID-19 virus.
Ion Ceban informed that this subject was in the focus of all municipal structures and there was a good cooperation with the central public administration bodies to this end. Moreover, the heads of departments and employees from all municipal structures received clear-cut instructions on the measures due to be taken in the sectors they manage and they were asked to prove maximal seriousness and responsibility.
The officials were unanimous in the opinion that, only by joint and responsible actions, the decision-makers would be able to cope with this major challenge, faced not only by Moldova, but also the entire world.
The head of state said that, also today, he would have a new meeting with cabinet’s representatives, in order to discuss the measures due to be undertaken nationally to prevent the spread of coronavirus. “At present, the situation is stable, including due to the measures taken by the authorities; yet, as we have seen in more countries, the evolution of this epidemic can be alert and unpredictable and for this reason, I want to permanently make sure that the state’s institutions are mobilized and ready to intervene at the opportune moment,” the Moldovan president stressed.
