Another two Coronavirus cases confirmed in Moldova

Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - Another two cases of Coronavirus have been confirmed in Moldova. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.
According to Dumbraveanu, the persons infected with COVID-19, a woman from Chisinau and a man from southern Moldova, have recently returned from Italy. Both cases are of medium seriousness and the state of the patients is stable.
Specialists of the National Public Health Agency carry out epidemiological investigation, in order to establish with whom the infected people have contacted.
The health minister said that a decision had been taken that all schools, universities and kindergartens from Moldova be closed from as of 11 March 2020.
Today morning, the authorities informed that they had ruled the suspension of all mass events, in order to prevent the spread of COVID-19. Also, decision-makers took the decision to cease the flights to and from Italy, ban the operators of air companies from taking onboard passengers who travel from Italy, Iran, China, South Korea to Moldova, obliging the air operators to inform passengers of flights, who embarked in Italy, Iran, China and South Korea, including those who transited these countries, to Moldova about the need to declare on their own responsibility information provided for in the epidemiological card and about the placement in quarantine at home for a 14-day period.
The first case of COVID-19 was registered in Moldova on 7 March, in a woman who had returned by an airship from Italy.
