Chisinau, 10 March /MOLDPRES/ - All schools and kindergartens from Moldova will be closed starting from 11 March. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.
According to Dumbraveanu, the decision on the ceasing of the education process might be valid next week too and it will not be enforced in the case of universities. “In case of students, each institution has undertaken measures to diminish the number of students in a lecture room, shorten the duration of classes, air the rooms, take caution measures in terms of disinfection; yet, this does not mean that we cannot examine, during time, the ceasing of the education process in universities,” the minister said.
The official urged the parents to be responsible and strictly monitor the minors’ health condition. “The vacation does not imply leaving children without supervision, their exposing to a higher risk. We ask parents to be responsible, monitor the situation; where their children are, with whom. The self-treatments will be avoided. If necessary, we will call the family physician or the 112 service,” Dumbraveanu said.
About 1,200 education institutions and 1,500 kindergartens work in Moldova.
