Parliamentary committee approves candidates for positions of ambassador

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/- The Parliamentary Committee on Foreign Policy and European Integration examined and approved at today's meeting, candidates for the positions of Ambassadors of the Republic of Moldova to Latvia, Poland, Portugal, Bulgaria, China, Ireland, Italy, the Czech Republic and the USA.
Under the law on diplomatic service, ambassadors are appointed and recalled by the President of the Republic of Moldova, at the proposal of the Government. Proposals for appointment to these positions are submitted to the Government by the Minister of Foreign Affairs and European Integration, in consultation with the Foreign Policy and European Integration Commission.
Today, the commission approved Andrian Roşa's candidacy for the position of Moldovan Ambassador to Latvia, Igor Bodiu - to Poland, Alexei Cracan - Portugal, Anatol Cebuc - Bulgaria, Dumitru Braghiș - China, Larisa Minculeț - in Ireland, Anatol Urecheanu - Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the Italian Republic, Alexandru Codreanu - to the Czech Republic and Eugen Caras, as Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Moldova to the USA.
