Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - A number of 1,000 places will be prepared in medical institutions for the treatment of people infected with COVID-19. President Igor Dodon has made a request to this effect at a meeting of the Supreme Security Council (CSS).

The head of state noted that the government would deal with the identification and preparation of rooms for the reception of about 1,000 patients, ensuring the supply with the needed equipments and physicians. ‘’As for the number of security rooms for the treatment of infected people, specialists say that they are enough at present. It is about over 500 places in hospitals. Yet, I demanded a revision of this analysis and to try to be not only by one step ahead of the evolution, but by more steps ahead,’’ Dodon said.

The participants in the CSS meeting also ruled that the Border Police harshen also the control at the border crossing points, with the identification of the mechanisms of immediate introduction in quarantine, especially in case of the people come from hit regions. The Interior Ministry is to inform the citizens as well as possible when they cross the border, both as regards the obligations they have if coming from the risk zones and as concerns the responsibility they have if they do not observe them. Decision-makers introduce the obligatory investigation of all employees of the public and private sectors, who are guilty of the spread of the virus. All public institutions will be verified as to the ensuring of the measures of hygiene and prophylaxis, as well as imposing fines or administrative reprimands, in case the recommendations are not observed.
