Pensions to be indexed by 4.83 per cent in Moldova as of 1 April 2020

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - The government today approved a draft decision, which proposes indexation of the state social insurances and state social payments starting from 1 April 2020. Under the document, on 1 April, decision-makers will index by 4.83 per cent the pensions established under the law on the public pensions’ system, which resulted from the average annual increase of the consumer prices index for the last three years.   

Thus, as of 1April 2020, the average size of the age limit pension will increase by 90.69 lei for 523,422 beneficiaries, as a result of the indexation by 4.83 per cent. The disability pensions will grow by 69.25 lei for 122,676 beneficiaries and the survivor pensions will increase by 63.36 lei for 11,269 people.    

Also, starting from 1 April, the average pension of the participants in the Chernobyl accident relief works will increase by 181.87 lei for 1,691 beneficiaries.  

At the same time, the quantum of minimum age limit pension is of 1,131.46 lei, following the enforcement of the indexation coefficient of 4.83 per cent on the quantum of minimum pension in force till this date – 1,079.33 lei.  

The difference between the quantum of minimum pension and the quantum of the calculated pension will be paid with state budget means.
