Authorities say Moldova supplied with food products

Chisinau, 11 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Agriculture, Regional Development and  Environment Ministry (MADRM) today informed that Moldova was supplied with food products and calls on the residents to keep calm, in the context of the latest developments of the social and economic situation nationally and internationally.  

According to the ministry, Moldova has the national capacities of ensuring the country’s food security. ‘’Presently, the enterprises for processing dairy products have in stocks about 140 tons of butter, 189 tons of cheese and 500 tons of pasteurized whip cream. The companies of processing meat products and tinned goods have in stocks 860 tons of raw material of beef and pork, as well as 242 tons of meat finished goods, available for sale. The stocks of meat have 4,500 tons. About one million eggs are daily produced in Moldova and the final consumption is supplied at a level of 110 per cent,’’ MARDM sources said.

The reserves of vegetal products are also sufficient for enough time.  

At the same time, the ministry informed that the imports were taking place as normal, with no restrictions.

The MADRM’s announcement was launched, given that more pictures and information were broadcast in public space with crowds created at some Chisinau-based supermarkets. The Agriculture, Regional Development and Environment Ministry reiterates that Moldova is supplied from the viewpoint of food products and appeals to the population to keep calm, avoid speculations through correct informing and non-spread of false information.
