Chisinau, 12 March /MOLDPRES/- The government has simplified the procedure for obtaining national driving licenses for the residents of the Transnistrian region, approving on Wednesday amendments to the Regulation on the driving license, the organization and conduct of the examination for obtaining the driving license and the conditions for admission to road traffic.
Thus, the residents of the Transnistrian region will be able to obtain national driving licenses without having to pass the exam, if they have a driving license issued in the left bank of the Dniester or in the municipality of Bender, and they have identity documents issued by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova. This is the identity card or residence permit issued by the Migration and Asylum Bureau, the Bureau for Reintegration has reported.
"The government has approved an important decision that will facilitate the access of our compatriots from the left bank of the Dniester to public services provided by the authorities of the Republic of Moldova and, ultimately, access to travel abroad at the wheel of their own car. Guaranteeing the rights and extending the public services for the inhabitants of the Transnistrian region is a strong commitment of the government approved by the investiture vote by the parliament”, Deputy Prime Minister for Reintegration Alexandru Flenchea said.
The registration plates of the cars of neutral format for the vehicles registered on the left bank of the Dniester were set up on 10 September 2018. By mid-February, nearly 3500 registration numbers with neutral numbers were issued for the vehicles on the left bank of the Dniester.
