Chisinau, 13 March /MOLDPRES/ - The judges of the Supreme Court of Justice (CSJ) have ruled to exclude the candidate of the Shor Party, Vitalie Balinschi, from the electoral race for the MP seat in the uninominal electoral district No 38, Hancesti municipality.
The ruling was issued today evening, one day before the ballot. The application on Balinschi’s exclusion from the electoral race was submitted to CSJ by the Central Electoral Commission (CEC), after the Chisinau Court of Appeal on 10 March had turned down CEC’s request to exclude this candidate.
According to the Central Electoral Commission, the Shor Party’s candidate would have organized the carriage of voters on electoral purposes and did not declare the spending for this.
Vitalie Balinschi denied the charges and described the Court’s decision as an infringement in the carrying out of a fair electoral process.
New parliamentary polls will be held in the uninominal electoral district No 38, Hancesti municipality, on 15 March. The ballot will take place, after Alexandru Botnari has given up his MP mandate, in order to return to the position of Hancesti mayor.
Following the today’s ruling, six electoral contenders participate in the polls.
