New parliamentary polls start in uninominal electoral district Hancesti from Moldova

Chisinau, 15 March /MOLDPRES/ - New parliamentary polls are held in the uninominal electoral district No 38, Hancesti municipality, today.
The polling stations were opened at 7:00 and will close at 21:00.
The elections take place, given that Alexandru Botnari gave up his MP mandate, in order to return to the office of Hancesti mayor.
Six electoral contenders participate in the ballot: Stefan Gatcan on behalf of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Ion Mereuta on behalf of the Moldovan Democratic Party (PDM), Olesea Stamate on behalf of the Action and Solidarity Party (PAS), Dorin Chirtoaca from the Unirea (Union) electoral bloc, Anatolie Postolache on behalf of the Liberal Democratic Party (PLDM) and an independent candidate, Grigore Cobzac.
As many as 61,584 people are expected to participate in the polls, for whom an equal number of ballot papers were printed, of which 57,754 ones in Romanian and 3,830 in Russian.
Given that the Red Code of coronavirus was established in Moldova, the Central Electoral Commission took all caution measures to ensure an electoral process without dangers at the polls from Hancesti. To this end, the CEC representatives will intervene to ensure a checked flow of voters and in order to avoid cram and the presence of more than 50 persons in the same polling station.
