Moldovan PM attends joint meeting with top officials

Chisinau, 16 March /MOLDPRES/- Prime Minister Ion Chicu attended a joint meeting with President Igor Dodon and speaker Zinaida Greceanîi. They discussed epidemiological developments in the country and the region, measures taken and planned to fight the spread of a new type Covid-19, the government's communication and protocol department has reported.
The premier approached the last measures decided on the platform of the national commission of public health to combat the spread of coronavirus in Moldova, such as stopping air and rail transport, prohibiting the access of foreign citizens in Moldova, closing several border crossing points at the border with Ukraine, limiting the activities of state and private institutions, closing markets and retailing.
Chicu sent a message to the business community: "The government is preparing a set of measures to support the business. I will also discuss with bank representatives to delay the payment of mortgage loans. All entrepreneurs and citizens need to understand that we now have a common concern: to protect the country from this new virus. "
He said that today at 4:30 pm he will convene the Commission for Emergencies to decide on declaration of emergency.
