Moldovan president has working meeting with Chisinau mayor

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/- Moldovan President Igor Dodon on Tuesday had a working meeting with Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban, the presidential press service has reported.
The sides have addressed several topical issues. Dodon requested information on measures to prevent and combat the spread of coronavirus in the capital, where the population is almost one million inhabitants, and the risk of contamination is much higher than in rural areas.
Ceban assured that the authorities are taking all necessary measures to prevent infections with Covid-19. There are disinfected parks, playgrounds, block yards, sanitary facilities and building doors and stairs. The public premises are closed. People are urged to stay at home.
The commission for emergencies in the city hall strictly monitors the situation and comes up with recommendations in all areas of activity of the municipality.
The city hall has also opened a bank account for the economic agents and those who want to contribute by donating finances for hospitals and ordinary people.
The president appreciated the steps taken by the city hall and thanked the mayor for promptness and accuracy he manages this difficult situation for all of us. Dodon stressed that every resident of the capital must understand that these measures are aimed at overcoming the crisis we are facing and the responsibility of each depends on how quickly these actions will take effect.
