Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - The executive committee of the National Bank of Moldova (BNM) on 17 June issued a decision, thereby allowing the licenced banks to flexibly manage the payment obligations of the private people with difficulties in the payment of loans borrowed, in the conditions of the state of emergency.

The decision facilitates the providing by the licenced banks of facilities at the payment for the current loans of private people till 31 May 2020, BNM sources have said.

These measures could be applied selectively and individually by the banks, according to their own capacities, regulations and contractual provisions. At the same time, the BNM’s decision prompts the need of a cautious management by the banks of all risks, in order to maintain the stability of the banking sector and protect the depositors.

The change till 31 July 2020 of the date of payment of these sums on these loans will not result in their classification in a tougher category than the one existent on the date of adoption of the present decision.

The decision is not applied to the new credits provided on the aforementioned period.

The private people who can return their credits in continuation, especially by distance payment ways, are encourage to do this.

The licenced banks from Moldova have enough liquidities and capital, are solid and stable, the cited source said.
