Moldovan leadership urges residents to comply with requirements set by authorities

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Moldovan leadership has urged the residents to prove maximal responsibility and comply with the requirements set by the authorities, stressing that any infringement would be sanctioned.
President Igor Dodon said that, if a decrease in the number of registered cases of COVID-19 virus is found out till 20 March, some decisions of the National Extraordinary Public Health Commission would be revised, especially as regards the work of the retail trade units.
The head of state and the prime minister repeatedly thanked the physicians, policemen, customs officers, diplomats and many other employees of the state for the huge work they carry out on this difficult period.
Thirty cases of COVID-19 have been recorded in Moldova so far and the first death triggered by this virus was reported today. The parliament on 17 March approved the decision on the declaring of the state of emergency on the entire territory of Moldova for the period 17 March – 15 May 2020.
At the same time, the authorities on 16 March ceased the air traffic and the pupils’ vacation was extended. Also, the entire air traffic was stopped and the transiting of the country’s territory by foreign citizens was limited.
