Strategic Partnership with Romania for Moldova's European Integration to be strengthened

Chisinau, 18 March /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea today had a meeting with Ambassador of Romania to Moldova Daniel Ionita, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
At the meeting, the two officials reviewed the main events held during time and pointed out priorities of the bilateral agenda for the next period.
As to declaring of the state of emergency in Romania and Moldova, as a result of the spread of the coronavirus epidemic, the sides discussed eventual actions of support in emergencies dealing with the crisis triggered by COVID-19. In this respect, Minister Oleg Tulea reiterated the message of support for the Romanian government’s willingness to except Moldova from the ban on exports of medicines from Romania.
Referring to the prospect of the bilateral relations, Ambassador Ionita reaffirmed Romania’s commitment for Moldova’s European integration, encouraging the speeding up of the pace of the reforms’ implementation, in the context of the commitments from the Moldova-EU Association Agreement.
In the context of the tenth anniversary of the launch of the Strategic Bilateral Partnership for Moldova’s European Integration, Minister Oleg Tulea stressed the importance to strengthen this format of interaction, through fostering the political dialogue and turning to account new opportunities of sectoral cooperation.
