Over 2,000 citizens entered Moldova in last 24 hours

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/- In the last 24 hours, the flow of people was 3,765 at the border crossing points. A larger number was registered on the direction of entry into the Republic of Moldova - 2,083 people crossings, of which 1,470 crossings at the Moldovan-Romanian border, 611 border crossings with Ukraine and two air border crossings.

According to Border Police data, the most border crossing points were:

PTF Leușeni - 637 people crossings;

PTF Sculeni - 472 people crossings;

PTF Giurgiulești-Galați - 283 people crossings;

The Border Police and the Customs Service announced they are strengthening several measures to reduce the risk of spreading the new type of Coronavirus infection, especially at the border crossing points and individual protection measures to subordinates. These include: monitoring of people returning from areas with outbreaks of COVID-19, detecting those with symptoms associated with the new type Coronavirus infection, isolation from others, call 112 service for their transportation to the specialized hospital.

During the last 24 hours, at all border crossing points, 3,765 persons were screened and 2,083 individual epidemiological sheets were filled in.

According to the decision No9 of 15 March 2020 of the national commission for public health, from 17 March, at 00:00, it was forbidden to authorize the crossing of the Moldovan-Ukrainian state border and from 17 March at 8:00 pm, it was forbidden to authorize the crossing of the Moldovan-Romanian border for foreigners at the entry to Moldova. At the same time, from 17 March, at 00:00, the air traffic was stopped.
