Platform allowing to monitor COVID-19 cases in real time launched in Moldova

Chisinau, 20 March /MOLDPRES/ - An online platform which shows the latest situation as to the cases of Coronavirus (COVID-19) in Moldova is active in the country starting from today. The global platform was worked out for Moldova by a local company, at a request by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, with the support of the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), in cooperation with the World Health Organization (WHO) and the Office of the UN Resident Coordinator in Chisinau.
According to the aforementioned ministry, the platform, ArcGIS COVID-19, is global and is a joint product of the John Hopkins Institute (USA) and Esri Company (USA) and is currently used in tens of countries, in order to monitor the Coronavirus epidemic.
In Moldova, the platform will monitor more indicators, among which: the number of confirmed and suspect COVID-19 infection cases, number of deaths, the one of recovered persons. The data is disaggregated according to the age, gender, geographical origin, time of the case’s registration (day/month), including the cases confirmed among pregnant women.
The platform on the COVID-19 situation in Moldova can be watched on the website of the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, by accessing the banner, COVID-19 in Moldova: up to date situation. The platform will work 24 hours and could be adjusted with new options and indicators, if necessary.
