Authorities to take steps to avoid queues at counters where elderly raise pensions

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/- The authorities will take measures to avoid crowding at the counters where the elderly raise their pensions. To all card holders, the pension will be paid through them, and for those who do not have these means will be applied timetable for pensions. President Igor Dodon made the statement at the end of the weekly working meeting with Prime Minister Ion Chicu and speaker Zinaida Greceanii.
The measures will be taken in the context of the situation created by COVID-19 and are meant to protect the elderly, who are the most exposed to the disease.
The head of the state noted that at today's meeting several decisions were taken, including the fact that today more stores will be reopened - agricultural ones, those that sell sanitary ware and spare parts.
"The education process is suspended and the specialists in the ministry train the teachers to switch to online education. Several schools in the capital have already completely switched to this type of education, ”said Dodon.
Dodon said that it was decided that if the situation gets worse, the intervention of the Ministry of Defense will be requested and called on citizens to be responsible and not to leave the house except for extreme necessity.
Dodon said that this week, Moldova will benefit from several aid packages, especially medical equipment from the World Health Organization, China and the Russian Federation.
