China to provide Moldova with about three tons of humanitarian assistance in medicines, medical materials, equipment

Chisinau, 23 March /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today had a working meeting with Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of China to Moldova Zhang Yinghong.
According to the presidential press service, the officials exchanged officials exchanged opinions on the present state of the Moldovan-Chinese relations, as well as the situation regarding the new coronavirus pandemic. Igor Dodon appreciated the good cooperation between the two states in all sectors of common interest. He thanked for the considerable assistance provided by China to Moldova in diverse fields of major importance.
In particular, the head of state expressed gratitude to the Chinese side for the support provided to Moldova to combat and prevent the spread of the new-type coronavirus.
The Moldovan president stressed that the humanitarian assistance, which is to come to Moldova from China quite soon, and consisted of about three tons of needed medicines, medical materials and equipment, including 100,000 protection respirators, more than 2,500 diagnosis tests, etc., would be extremely necessary in the context of the actions undertaken by Moldova’s authorities in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.
In the end, the officials were unanimous in the opinion on the opportunity to continue an agenda of actions focused on the development of new prospects of deepening the Moldovan-Chinese cooperation.
