Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - Another 1,000 tests for detecting the COVID-19 infection have been brought to Moldova with the support of the World Health Organization (WHO). The laboratory of the National Public Health Agency (ANSP) has enough tests; they are used, in some cases, even twice for the persons treated, who are to be discharged from hospital.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, the private providers of medical assistance showed solidarity and donated tests for filling the stocks of the ANSP Laboratory.

The ministry said that the state had also carried out other contracts on purchasing of tests; thus, all measures have been taken to strengthen the medical system.

The ministry noted that 109 cases of COVID-19 had been discovered in Moldova till today. At present, 105 suspect people are hospitalized in strategic medical and sanitary institutions.

To cease the spread of COVID-19, the authorities took a string of restrictive measures for the citizens. Thus, the authorities ban, starting from 25 March, the stay of people in public places: parks, woods, playgrounds, sport fields, entertainment zones. The Interior Ministry and the Defence Ministry will ensure the observance of this decision and will monitor the situation.
