Moldovan top court validates mandate of newly elected MP

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - The judges of Constitutional Court (CCM) today confirmed the results of the new parliamentary polls in the uninominal electoral district No 38 from Hancesti and validated the MP mandate of Stefan Gatcan.

The candidacy of the Party of Socialists (PSRM), Stefan Gatcan, won the 15 March elections in the electoral district No 38, Hancesti, with 5,539 votes (39.45 per cent). The voter turnout was 14,400 electors, i.e. 23.3 per cent of those registered in the electoral lists.

Once the new lawmaker mandate validated, the PSRM faction of the parliament has 37 MPs.

The new parliamentary elections took place in the uninominal electoral district No 38 Hancesti on 15 March 2020. Five electoral contenders ran for the lawmaker seat. The uninominal electoral district No 38 Hancesti comprises the Hancesti municipality, 11 communes, 13 villages, - 25 first-level administrative and territorial units in all.
