Moldovan PM chairs meeting of Commission for Emergency Situations

Chisinau, 24 March /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today chaired a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations. The authorities involved in the management of the epidemiological situation formulated a string of proposals and requests, dictated by the change of circumstances, which are within the competence of the Commission, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.  

Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu informed that 104 tests had been processed in the last 24 hours, of which 16 were positive. Three cases are of import of the virus and 13 are of local transmission. There are 125 cases confirmed out of 1,011 samples in all.

Most cases confirmed are in the Chisinau municipality – 46, 19 ones are in Hancesti and 9 – in Stefan Voda. The cases of local transmission show the need to undertake additional measures, in order to inform people about the self-isolation and prompt the observance of physicians’ recommendations.   

The participants in the meeting discussed infringements of the procedures of administration and negligence in the fulfillment of the job duties by the director of the Republican Clinical Hospital and took a decision to dismiss the latter. The commission asked Minister Dumbraveanu to immediately identify and appoint the fit person for the institution’s management.   

Interior Minister Pavel Voicu informed about the results of the process of supervising the public order and observing the restrictions provided for in the decisions of the Commission for Emergency Situations. The flow of people at border checkpoints is decreasing; most of them represent passengers of the charter flights for the repatriation of Moldova’s citizens.

Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea informed about the ministry’s actions, in order to assist Moldovan citizens in the repatriation process. The consulates are involved in the organization of groups of Moldova’s citizens, facilitate their communication with air operators and the aviation authorities, in order to coordinate the charter flights.  

The Commission approved the Instruction No 4, which contains a string of decisions.
