Moldovan MPs, employees of parliament's secretariat provide financial support to medical system

Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - The lawmakers, employees of the MPs’ offices, commissions and the ones of the parliament’s Secretariat have donated financial means, in order to support physicians in combating the coronavirus. The money accumulated is to be transferred to a special account opened by the Finance Ministry and the recipients are the Toma Ciorba clinical hospital of infectious diseases and the municipal clinical hospital of contagious diseases for children, the parliament’s communication and public relations department has reported.   

These two institutions are among the most demanded ones in the treatment of patients confirmed with the new coronavirus COVID-19.   

”We are aware of how important is creating adequate conditions for work and protection for the medical employees and the patients enjoy a proper treatment. I thank the colleagues lawmakers and employees of the parliament’s Secretariat for having ruled to contribute, proving compassion and unity. I urge, also on this occasion, to further remaining responsible for the personal health and the ones of the people around, to observe the norms recommended by the physicians and the conditions imposed by the authorities, in this difficult situation,’’ Parliament Speaker Zinaida Greceanii said.   

The sum accumulated by the employees of the parliament’s Secretariat, MPs, employees of the lawmakers’ offices and commissions stands at 684.294 thousand lei; of which:  

Parliament’s Secretariat – 106.864 thousand lei;
Faction of the Party of Socialists – 528.973 thousand lei;
Faction of the Democratic Party – 15.360 thousand lei;
Faction ACUM Dignity and Truth Platform – 6.298 thousand lei;
Shor Party – 4.101 thousand lei;
Faction of the Action and Solidarity Party ACUM Bloc – 8.179 thousand lei
Independent MP Alexandru Oleinic – 14.519 thousand lei

Additionally to the money donations, the parliament’s Secretariat provided more transport units which are used for the carriage of medical employees from Chisinau suburbs to work. Also, the parliament’s Secretariat assumed the supply of some medical institutions with additional drinking water.
