Another 28 COVID-19 cases recorded in Moldova

Chisinau, 26 March /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 134 biological samples today were processed at the laboratory of the National Public Health Agency, of which 28 proved to be positive. Three of them are of import and 25 – of local transmission. Thus, there are 177 confirmed cases of new-type coronavirus in all. Health, Labour and Social Protection Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu made statements to this effect after a today’s meeting of the single command centre for the management of the crisis triggered by the COVID-19 virus.

The minister said that most cases of local transmission had been registered in Chisinau, Ialoveni, Cahul, Hancesti, Stefan Voda, Orhei, Soroca and on the left bank of Dniester. All people are hospitalized and 25 ones are expecting their tests to be discharged from hospital.

Dumbraveanu noted that four of the patients confirmed with COVID-19 today were employees of the Republican Hospital.

State of emergency is declared all over Moldova on the period 17 March – 15 May 2020, given the COVID-19 pandemic.
