Foreign affairs ministry informs Moldovan citizens about way exceptional charter flights are organized

Chisinau, 27 March /MOLDPRES/ - The Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry (MAEIE) informs about the organization of exceptional charter flights for the repatriation of Moldovan citizens at risk from abroad.
According to MAEIE’s public diplomacy, strategic communication and media interaction service, in accordance with the Instruction No 6 of the Commission for Emergency Situations from 26 March 2020, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry will coordinate the process of repatriation of Moldovan citizens by charter flights. To this end, the diplomatic and consular missions will update information about the people at risk, giving priority to children, students, persons undergoing medical treatment, as well as other categories of disadvantaged citizens. Starting from 28 March 2020, the interested people will be able to register online on the internet pages and Facebook of the diplomatic and consular missions (mfa.gov.md/sites/default/files/tabel.pdf).
The priority destinations of the charter flights will be proposed to the Commission for Emergency Situations, which authorizes the charter flights on the period of the state of emergency.
The travel tickets for the exceptional charter flights will be purchased directly from flight operators, after the Commission for Emergency Situations approves the route. Updated information on the authorized charter flights can be found on the official website of Moldova’s Civil Aviation Authority (AAC) at the address: www.caa.md/rom/news/ or on AAC’s Facebook page.
Upon the arrival in Chisinau, the passengers of these flights will compulsorily undergo the procedure of medical examination and will be placed in self-isolation for 14 days.
