Moldovan health, interior ministries to buy protection equipment against COVID-19

Chisinau, 29 March /MOLDPRES/ - The National Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) on 28 March instructed that the Finance Ministry earmarks 19.5 million lei from the government’s intervention fund to the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry for purchasing respirators through the Centre for Centralized Public Procurements in Health, in order to prevent and combat the spread of the COVID-19 infection.
Also, the same instruction of CSE allowed the Interior Ministry, by derogation of the law on public procurements, to buy antiseptic products and individual protection equipment (masks, gloves, protection screens, protection overalls), needed for the prevention and combating of the spreads of the COVID-19 infection, amounting to up to 1 million lei, without value added tax.
The Instruction No 8 from 28 March of Moldova’s Commission for Emergency Situations was issued in line with the law on the regime of state of emergency, of siege and war and the parliament’s decision on the declaring of the state of emergency.
State of emergency is declared in Moldova on 17 March – 15 May, as response to the COVID-19 pandemic.
