60 medical staff infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 30 March /MOLDPRES/- About 23 percent of COVID-19 patients are medical staff. The 60 health workers are working both at state and private sector. The total number of coronavirus patients has reached 263. ANSP director Nicolae Furtuna made the statement today.

He said that both in the Republic of Moldova and in the other states the doctors get sick because they are on the first line. He came up with details about the procedures for burial of deceased persons. He noted that for the moment it is better to give up some traditions, especially the church service.

Attending the meeting, Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu said that the number of patients with COVID in the Republic of Moldova reached 263. Of them, 16 are from the left bank of the Dniester. 127 people are hospitalized at Toma Ciorba hospital, including 32 in serious condition.

At the Hospital for Infectious Diseases for Children, 15 children and five adults are hospitalized, and at the Republican Hospital there are 13 patients, including 12 in serious condition. There are 60 patients at the Ministry of Health Hospital.

On 17 March - 15 May state of emergency is declared throughout Moldova.
