Over 40 COVID-19 patients in serious condition

Chisinau, 31 March /MOLDPRES/- 43 out of the 298 patients hospitalized in the country's medical institutions with COVID-19 are in serious condition. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu made the statement today.

Out of the 298 cases, 65 are of import and 233 with local transmission. Most cases with COVID-19, about 100, were registered in the capital and 16 in the left bank of the Dniester.

Currently, 126 people are hospitalized to the hospital Toma Ciorbă, including 31 in serious condition. At the Hospital for Infectious Diseases for Children 17 children and six adults are treated, and at the Republican Clinical Hospital there are 13 patients, including 12 in serious condition. There are 83 patients at the Hospital of the Ministry of Health. Six people are hospitalized in Balti and five are in Causeni.

The minister said that yesterday, five more patients were released, so the number of treated cases reaches 18.

The official thanked a group of young people who had mobilized to produce visors for doctors in hospitals. The first 2,000 such devices have been submitted to the medical staff in many hospitals.

On 17 March - 15 May, state of emergency is declared throughout the country.
