Moldovan president inspects works of arranging sorting centre at Moldexpo

Chisinau, 1 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon, along with Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban, today visited the Moldexpo Exhibition Centre. A centre for sorting people suspected of infection with the new-type coronavirus is to be opened here, under a decision by the National Commission for Emergency Situations, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state familiarized with the march of the works of arrangement of the pavilion with an area of 5,000 square metres. According to the head of the Centre, Oleg Crudu, competent people take efforts for the arrangement of about 300-400 places and organizing the needed logistics for receiving persons suspected of infection with COVID-19 in several days.
The diagnosing tests will be initially collected at the sorting centre, after which the people infected will be carried to hospital and the healthy ones – home.
Igor Dodon noted that it was quite important that we are prepared for an eventual more serious evolution of the crisis triggered by COVID-19, given that the number of the people infected with this virus increases. ‘’The sorting centre will allow us ease the work of hospitals and better manage the situation dealing with this pandemic,’’ the president added.
