Chisinau, 2 April /MOLDPRES/ - The Chisinau city hall has demanded that the Moldovan capital’s residents observe the self-isolation and the quarantine measures on the period of the Easter Holidays.
At a today’s online news conference, Chisinau mayor Ion Ceban said that he asked the Chisinau residents to stay at home during the Easter Holidays. ‘’I understand the wish of the city’s residents to participate in the Easter services. At the same time, I draw attention that the risk of infection with COVID-19 has grown on this period; therefore, I ask the citizens to observe the self-isolation regime and the quarantine measures,’’ Ceban noted.
Interior Minister Pavel Voicu has recently informed that the way the Easter Holidays are to be held depended on the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in Moldova. ‘’It depends on how things will evolve. If no aggravations occur – maybe there will be milder measures. Maybe we will recommend that everybody have protection gloves, masks, stay in the yard of the church; yet, everything depends on the evolution of the pandemic,’’ Pavel Voicu said.
The Easter will be celebrated on 19 April this year.
There are 423 people infected with COVID-19 in Moldova, of whom 65 ones are in serious health condition. Five persons died.
