Number of people treated by COVID-19 reached 26

Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/- In Moldova, the number of people infected with COVID-19 reached 505, including 62 in serious condition. At the same time, 26 patients were treated. Minister of Health, Labor and Social Protection Viorica Dumbrăveanu made the statement today.
Out of the 505 cases, 80 are imported and 425 locally transmitted. Most cases with COVID-19, over 200 were registered in the capital and about 40 in the left bank of the Dniester. New cases were registered in Soroca and Stefan Voda.
The official noted that in Stefan Voda the decision was made to place the hospital in quarantine and to transfer the patients. The hospital in Soroca, even if the locality is quarantined, will remain functional.
Dumbrăveanu said that the state strengthens the testing capacity, and yesterday seven specialists from the left bank of the Dniester were trained in order to organize a laboratory in the region. Another laboratory that will process COVID-19 tests will be opened in Balti.
The minister said that soon the Moldexpo sorting center could become operational. Today there will be trainings and simulations for the staff who will operate at this center.
On 17 March- 15 May state of emergency is declared throughout the country. Several localities from Ștefan Vodă, Hâncești and Soroca were quarantined, the exits and entrances from these locations being blocked.
