Moldovan foreign affairs ministry unveils charter flights authorized by Commission for Emergency Situations till 19 April

Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/ - At least 14 charter flights for the repatriation of Moldovan citizens blocked abroad will be organized in the next two weeks. Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea made statements to this effect at a news briefing today.
The Moldovan diplomacy head noted that, during 15 March - 2 April, more than 4,800 Moldovans had repatriated. He specified that the leadership would try to repatriate also the citizens from far away locations.
Thus, under a 2 April decision by the Commission for Emergency Situations, decision-makers approved the schedule of flights for the repatriation of Moldovan citizens for the next two weeks. On the period 6-12 April, flights will be made from Frankfurt, Lisbon, Madrid, Brussels, Warsaw, Dublin, London.
On the period 13-19 April, flights will be organized from Amsterdam, Venice, Paris, Berlin, Rome, London, Prague. ‘’Only Moldova’s citizens who registered in the waiting lists of the diplomatic missions and consular offices by filling in of questionnaires made available to applicants starting from 29 March will benefit from tickets for the aforementioned flights. The citizens from the following categories: students, people under medical treatment, citizens at risk, will have priority at inclusion in lists of passengers,’’ Oleg Tulea said.
The minister said that the citizens due to be allowed to flights would be personally contacted, in order to receive details on the way travel tickets are purchased.
At the same time, the foreign affairs minister warned the Moldovan citizens from abroad to be cautious when buying tickets for other flights. He urged them to get information, first of all, on the official webpages of the Civil Aviation Authority (www.caa.md), government (www.gov.md), embassy or consulate of Moldova in the concerned country.
