Chisinau, 3 April /MOLDPRES/ - President Igor Dodon today discussed with the heads of the pharmaceutical companies and importers of medicines, following working meetings with representatives of commercial networks and agricultural producers, the presidential press service has reported.
The head of state highlighted that the residents’ supply with medicines, along with the food security, was a vital issue, especially in the conditions of pandemic.
Igor Dodon thanked those present for the responsible attitude in the issue of people’s supply with medication. At the same time, the sides found out that the acute deficit of protection masks in drug stores, which is now partially regulated due to the local production, was not the blame of the drug stores’ network, but an objective reality worldwide and no country was prepared for such a crisis.
In the context, the sides discussed in detail two principal subjects: the reserves of preparations needed in Moldova and the prices for medicines. The participants in the meeting said that these things were influenced by certain factors, such as the price imposed by the producer, fluctuations of the exchange rate, ban imposed by almost all countries on export of medication and inventory on the period of the coronavirus epidemic.
The Moldovan president gave assurances that the top leadership would provide every needed support, so that the deliveries of medicines for the health system and the residents, in general, are carried out uninterruptedly. In this respect, Igor Dodon said that the state’s authorities were prepared to hold political consultations with the foreign partners. The head of state also informed that the problems of the branch would be discussed at the government in the nearest time.
