11 medical staff in Glodeni infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 6 April /MOLDPRES/- 11 medical staff in Glodeni were tested positive with Covid-19. Prime Minister Ion Chicu made the statement today after a working meeting with President Igor Dodon and Speaker Zinaida Grecianii.

Out of the 872 people in the medical system who were tested at Covid-19, 240 were confirmed positive. Testing doctors and workers will continue.

He also noted that the transition to the European experience was discussed, when patients with mild forms of COVID-19 are treated at home to decrease the pressure on doctors in hospitals.

The prime minister said that the coming days could be declared days-off for state employees, given the critical situation in some regions of the country and the high risk of infection. However, in this regard, specialists in epidemiology will come with recommendations. “The situation is complicated in Soroca and Stefan Voda, and in Glodeni there are already several outbreaks”, Chicu said.

He noted that at 12.00 hours, the Emergencies Commission will decide new measures related to COVID-19 pandemic.
