As many as 257 medical employees of Moldova infected with COVID-19

Chisinau, 7 April /MOLDPRES/ - As many as 257 people out of the total number of 965 ones infected with COVID-19 in Moldova are medical system employees.

According to data by the Health, Labour and Social Protection Ministry, 88 people out of the medical employees infected in the community, by usual means or at the place of work are medical assistants, 76 – auxiliary medical staff, 70 physicians, 19 doctor’s assistants, three pharmacists and one para-physician.

Most cases of infection among medical employees were recorded in Soroca – 86, Stefan Voda – 46, Glodeni – 15, Republican Clinical Hospital – 14, Emergency Medicine Association Chisinau – 13, Psychiatry Clinical Hospital – 8, Orhei District Hospital – 7, National Centre for Emergency Medicine Assistance – 6.

So far, 965 cases of infection with the new-type coronavirus have been registered in Moldova. As many as 854 cases are of local transmission and 111 – of import. There are 56 children among the people infected.
