Moldovan premier chairs meeting of Single Command Centre of emergency state

Chisinau, 21 April /MOLDPRES/ - Prime Minister Ion Chicu today led an online meeting of the Single Command Centre of the emergency state. The participants in the event heard reports by the leaders of the public authorities and institutions involved in the management of the epidemiological situation, the government’s communication and protocol department has reported.
Interior Minister Pavel Voicu informed that the Interior Ministry (MAI) employees were involved in activities of monitoring the observance of the regime of self-isolation of about 16,000 contacts and almost 40,000 people under supervision.
As many 109 people coming from Russia by two buses have entered Moldova.
The police undertake actions of patrolling public places and monitor the observance of the social distancing requirements. People are urged to go outdoors strictly for essential needs.
The police, along with National Army servicemen, ensure the maintenance of the quarantine regime in the Soroca city, towns of Stefan Voda and Glodeni, as well as the settlements of Carahasani, Talmaza and Branzeni.
Ion Chicu drew the attention of the General Police Inspectorate to clarifications made at a meeting of the Commission for Emergency Situations (CSE) as to the work of the public nourishment enterprises.
So far, as many as 12,203 samples have been investigated and 2,614 cases of infection were confirmed. Physicians have treated 505 people infected with COVID-19. The death of 73 persons infected with coronavirus was registered.
Minister Viorica Dumbraveanu highlighted the recommendation by the World Health Organization on the patients treated of COVID-19 to observe 14 days of self-isolation after discharge.
