Moldovan businesswomen to get grants of over 1.6 million lei

Chisinau, 22 April /MOLDPRES/- The Organization for Development of Small and Medium Enterprises (ODIMM) has launched Part III of the Women in Business Program - Support for growing companies - which offers grants of up to 1,649,000 lei. The applications are received by ODIMM online until 26 April.

Moldovan women entrepreneurs can get grants for export and innovation oriented businesses.

According to ODIMM director-general Iulia Costin, companies created and managed by women engaged in economic activity in Moldova for more than two years, who plan to increase turnover and number of employees by expanding the market, can apply to the competition. "We call on all women entrepreneurs, who meet the eligibility criteria, to submit a standard concept note, a simplified business plan in electronic version on the ODIMM website", he said.

The Women in Business program was approved by government decision in 2016. It is aimed at providing financial and non-financial support via grants for investments and services relevant to the development of business by women. Its purpose is to increase economic opportunities for women by reducing barriers to starting or developing a business; facilitating access to investments and assistance for the development of women-managed businesses, meant to complement the financial and non-financial support available to women entrepreneurs in Moldova; creating an integrated national model of support for the development of female entrepreneurship, aimed at different stages of business development: from business planning (initiation) - to newly created enterprises and to growing businesses etc.
