Foreign affairs minister, counterpart from Azerbaijan discuss Moldovan-Azeri cooperation

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/ - Foreign Affairs and European Integration Minister Oleg Tulea exchanged opinions with his Azeri counterpart Elmar Mammadyarov on measures undertaken by both countries’ authorities for the protection of residents’ health and diminishing the negative consequences of the pandemic on the national economy. At a today’s phone conversation, the officials stressed the importance of a mutual support, including in the process of Moldovan and Azeri citizens’ repatriation, the Foreign Affairs and European Integration Ministry’s press service has reported.
Also, the sides discussed the present stage and prospect of continuous development of the bilateral relations, noting willingness to turn to good account the cooperation potential in sectors of mutual interest. In the context, the foreign affairs ministers confirmed interest in the holding of the next meeting of the Moldovan-Azeri inter-governmental commission for commercial and economic cooperation, as well as in developing the collaboration within international organizations.
Highlighting the importance of the efficient interaction between the Chisinau and Baku foreign affairs ministries, Minister Tulea reiterated the invitation to his Azeri counterpart to pay a visit to Moldova, immediately after the pandemic crisis is overcome.
