Law on mandatory health insurance funds for 2020 amended

Chisinau, 23 April /MOLDPRES/- Parliament approved on Thursday in two readings amendments to the Law on mandatory health insurance funds for 2020.

According to the draft, the mandatory health insurance funds for this year will amount to 8,151,392.2 thousand lei in terms of revenues, and 8,383,392.2 thousand lei in terms of expenses, with a deficit of 232,000,000 lei.

The proposed amendments provide for reducing incomes by 232,000,000 lei from the account of compulsory health insurance premiums in the form of percentage contribution to salary and other rewards, paid by each category of payers. The deficit amounting to 232,000,000 lei will be covered from the account of the balance, which on 1 January 2020 amounted to 549,696.5 thousand lei.

According to the updated forecast of macroeconomic indicators, there is a decrease in the labor remuneration fund to about 55.3 billion lei.

The draft was worked out as a result of updating the forecast of macroeconomic indicators by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure.
