Procedures for selecting charter airlines carrying Moldovans home to be more transparent

Chisinau, 24 April /MOLDPRES/- More transparency in selecting charter airlines carrying Moldovans home and lower ticket prices - these are the results of the approval by the Ministry of Economy and Infrastructure (MEI) of the Regulation for selecting airlines that will perform repatriation flights.

"After examining several petitions of Moldovan citizens who have faced difficulties on repatriation flights, MEI decided to intervene in this procedure by issuing an order approving the Regulation for selecting air operators that will perform repatriation flights,” sources from the ministry said.

"It is important to ensure transparency in the selection procedures of charter airlines. We have taken into account the petitions sent to the authorities by the citizens and we will continue to take all necessary measures to ensure that charter flights are carried out correctly and safely," Minister Sergiu Railean said.

Thus, the necessary conditions for access to the tender were created for all air operators interested in repatriation charter flights, according to the lists set by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and European Integration.

This allowed for a transparent selection of airlines and fair competition, which resulted in lower prices of air tickets for repatriation flights.
